Lauren Chakalos

- Cello

Lauren has been playing cello for over twenty years. A Fauquier native who began her musical studies in the Fauquier County school system, Lauren graduated in 2009 and began teaching private lessons immediately thereafter. A performing musician, Lauren has experience playing solo, in ensembles, and with many local and out of state groups including the Rappahannock County based bluegrass band the Gold Top County Ramblers. Adept in multiple genres, Lauren currently performs with the locally based,  Atoka String Quartet. Lauren has devoted countless hours contributing to multiple youth orchestras helping young and aspiring musicians hone their skills and pursue a life of music. Lauren has played and performed with the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra for the past nine seasons while doing music mentorships through PSO in all of the county middle and high schools. Lauren endeavors to one day finish her degree in Music Therapy at Shenandoah University in order to help disabled children come out of their shells and to grow and learn skills in a creative capacity. Lauren enjoys teaching beginner through advanced students. Her easy going personality, background, and passion for music helps inspire anyone around her.
