Grey Eagle Two Point #54 (2011)
Grey Eagle Two Point #54 (2011) – This mandolin was built by Skip Peyre in Richmond, Virginia, in 2011. With a spruce top and highly flamed maple back, this mandolin is an absolute cannon, with tremendous bark, power, and clarity. For someone looking for a modern take on the mandolin, this is the instrument for you. The body features a bass-side horn in place of the F-style scroll, and the ebony bridge has an internal Fishman pickup wired to an endpin jack. Other hardware includes an engraved Bill James nickel tailpiece which shows light patina and a set of stock nickel Grover tuners. A Breedlove-style hardshell case is included.
